The beauty of a basket often lies in the natural colour and texture of the material. What is more charming and tactile than a hand woven basket, with as much individuality as your own home. Incredibly strong, rattan is a wild plant covered in thorns that help to pull itself though, up and over the jungles of Indonesia. Our favourite rattan is kubu grey, now very popular in this country and Scandinavia, which after being stripped of its thorns is left to soak in mud baths, where it takes on a wonderful grey colouring.
